Music is a language that connects us. Songwriting is an art that helps us know ourselves, see each other, and remember our shared humanity. We are a not-for-profit dedicated to building and boosting the community of songwriters in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois and surrounding areas.

We build and boost local songwriters through opportunities to perform such as the C-U Soiree Musicale, through grants, workshops, and more.
Our Team
Our all-volunteer board is Mark Aardsma (President, Treasurer), Jenn Aardsma, and Rob Krumm.
Venus Walker helps with office and administration. Cynthia Starns does graphic design.
Carol Corning takes care of our website, email, and social media communications.
Past Programs
From 2022 to 2025 Right Here Music focused on bringing exemplary touring singer-songwriters to town for live shows. From 2025 to now we have focused on building and boosting the local songwriter community.
